Award Nominations

Think about it…  aren’t there people involved with your nonprofit or within your circle who deserve to be recognized for the amazing things they do for the community? Folks who give of themselves, of their talents and of their financial resources.

Nominating them for the Charles Rodefeld Award for Leadership in Philanthropy and the Community or the Ruth J. Wickemeyer Award for Community Service won’t take much of your time but it will create a lasting ‘thank you’ for that special person.

36 Years of Giving
Thirty-six years ago good people in Wayne County formed our community foundation. They were the guardians of our future. Thanks to their efforts, we now have millions of dollars in assets to support our community today.

Our past guardians were wise and good and generous... and we are grateful to them. It is now up to us to make sure the next generation will be as fortunate.

Please give generously to the future.

The Wayne County, Indiana, Foundation, Inc. exists to foster and encourage private philanthropic giving, to enhance the spirit of community and to improve the quality of life in the Wayne County, Indiana, area now and for future generations.

Gil Klose

When Gil Klose gives, he gives quietly never
asking for attention or public praise but his
giving did not go unnoticed by his children
Kevin, Christopher and Megan. As years passed and birthday and Christmas gifts became harder to buy, his children decided to honor their father's decades of generous giving by establishing the Gilbert Klose Endowment Fund at the Foundation.
